Canal+ gave access to a library of films and documents on request by launching the service – “CANAL+ Premieres”, which can be used not only by customers of the DTH platform. The platform is based on redGalaxy technology – created and developed by Atende Software.
The CANAL+ Premiere website has been launched thanks to the redGalaxy platform components, which have been made available in the PaaS (platform as a service) model. The appearance of the website has been adapted to the brand requirements of CANAL+. All content has been secured using leading DRM systems and has been made available using redGalaxy CDN.
VOD service from CANAL+ was available on the nc+GO service, which could be used by subscribers of linear television. Now, any Internet user will be able to use the extensive VOD library collection. On the CANAL+ Premieres website you can borrow cinema hits and selected documents, including titles that have just had their premieres in the cinema. The productions will be offered in the TVoD (Transactional Video on Demand) model – the user will pay for the selected film by gaining temporary access to it.
The service is currently available in a web browser, but soon mobile applications for smartphones and tablets for iOS and Android will be available. Access to the service will also be possible on platforms such as Android TV and Tizen OS from Samsung and webOS from LG.
