Atende Software has become the media patron of the new albums of the outstanding Polish jazz pianist – Kuba Stankiewicz. On October 16, the following albums will be released: Kuba Stankiewicz – Film Story and Kuba Stankiewicz – Kochanowski – Songs.
Kuba Stankiewicz has been one of the top Polish jazz pianists for many years. He is a laureate of many awards, including the prestigious Oscar Peterson award, Mateusz Three, and the Fryderyk Award. In 1987-1990 he studied at the Berklee College of Music in Boston (diploma in piano), where he was awarded the Oscar Peterson Award. He was a semi-finalist of the prestigious International Jazz Pianists Competition Thelonious Monk in Washington.
He collaborated with the orchestra of the legendary clarinetist and bandleader Artie Shaw. Together with the American Trio, they performed at Carnegie Hall in New York as part of the Invitation Festival. Kuba Stankiewicz is one of the few artists who can be said to have their own unique style of musical expression, which is confirmed, among others, by title of the Jazz Album of the Year 1993 in the “Jazz Forum” plebiscite for the album “Northern Song” and a nomination for the Fryderyk 2013 award in the Jazz Album of the Year category with the album “Spaces”.
The artist combines his musical career with a scientific career – in May 2009 he received a doctoral degree, and in 2016 a postdoctoral degree in the field of musical arts, artistic discipline – instrumental studies at the Instrumental Department of the Academy of Music in Wrocław.
Kuba Stankiewicz – Film Story
The album was recorded in 2019 together with Darek Oleszkiewicz in Los Angeles. The album is a beautiful, this time fully original, summary of the “film” stage of his career, when he read the scores of Wojciech Kilar, Victor Young, Bronisław Kaper and Henryk Wars with his delicacy and respect for original compositions. Eight original, premiere compositions, a masterful ensemble, flawless sound production.

Kuba Stankiewicz – Kochanowski – Songs
The artist wrote music to the works of Jan Kochanowski, while the sophisticated performance of Jacek Kotlarski is a re-reading of these beautiful stanzas. Kuba Stankiewicz’s compositions in an unusual and modern way bring out their gigantic poetic artistry and the power of the Polish language from “Songs”. “The songs are an affirmation of life. They are also an expression of delight at the feelings and emotions of a young man who describes the world with faith in the meaning of life.
